Pak Army not to be called in Karachi: PMISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the Army would not be called in Karachi, Geo News reported Wednesday.

Talking to media here, he said the government is deeply grieved at the killings in the provincial capital and shares sympathy with bereaved families of the deceased.

Replying to a question on Nabeel Gabol’s statement regarding calling the Army in Karachi, the PM Gilani said this is Nabeel Gabol’s personal opinion and not the party’s policy.

‘All the parties are concerned over circumstances in Karachi,’ he added.

Responding a question, the PM Gilani said Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif signed Charter of Democracy (CoD), adding most clauses have been put in practice thus far and the rest would be implemented in coming months.

Reacting to another question, he said. ‘We do not want our relations with the judiciary to worsen. And it is hoped that the apex court would deliver a positive ruling over 18th Amendment.’

‘We respect the Supreme Court (SC) more than any other party in the country,’ he stressed.
